Last in our series Wedding Venues in the West Country will take a look at Dorset – will one of these catch your eye?  Do you want your wedding to ooze a touch of history, or bring an Italian flare to the day?  Or is simple but elegant more your style.  The four wedding venues that we are focusing on are only a small part of a huge selection, so we have dedicated one of our Pinterest boards to Wedding Venues in Dorset, and included many more.

Forde Abbey

The Abbey is surrounded by 30 acres of award-winning gardens, which would no doubt make a beautiful backdrop for not only your wedding ceremony and reception, but for those all-important photographs. This remarkable stately home, was first founded in 1141 as a monastery, and is now the place to say I do if your wedding day is to be one of grandeur.  It is also good to know that if you choose to have your wedding on a weekend, the house is exclusively yours for that time.

Further details can be found at Forde Abbey.

The Italian Villa

This wedding venue was the best Wedding Venue in Dorset last year, so couples will already feel relaxed knowing that if they were to choose The Italian Villa, they would not be disappointed.  The Italian Villa is set amongst 10 acres of skilfully manicured gardens at the renowned Compton Acres, and brings its own magic to your special day.  Brides will be delighted at the prospect of having 3 floors of elegance just to themselves – although they may just have to share one with the bridegroom and guests.  This spectacular wedding venue is the only one of its kind in the UK and when you’re there, you are their only priority.

More information on how to book this unique wedding venue can be found at The Italian Villa which is shown in our feature image at the start of this blog post.

 Highcliffe Castle

This is definitely the wedding venue for any bride that has always dreamed of being a princess on her special day.  Nothing could becornwall caterers, somerset caterers, cornwall wedding caterers, somerset wedding caterers more fairy-tale then Highcliffe Castle, where the style of architecture is appropriately named Romantic and Picturesque – two words that totally sum up this venue.  Highcliffe Castle is a magnificent Grade 1 listed castle, perched on a cliff top, with access to a beautiful beach.  Perfect for those memories caught on camera.  Weddings can be held on any day of the week throughout the year, with three time slots available for the ceremony.  If you don’t mind not saying I do on a Saturday, then booking Highcliffe Castle should not be a problem, as Saturday is still the favourite day to get married.

Go to Highcliffe Castle for more information on how to book this beautiful wedding venue for your special day.

The Riveria Hotel Alum Chine

wedding caterers, caterers,

For couples you want to exchange their vows al fresco, The Riveria Hotel Alum Chine is the perfect wedding venue to do just that.  It can also be a great alternative to a beach wedding abroad minus the hassle of travelling and having to leave many guests behind.  The incredible surrounds – open skies and clear blue water – adds a little more magic to the atmosphere, and also makes a great canvas for some fun photographs on the beach.

Details on wedding packages are available at The Riveria Hotel
